This theory looks at how the audience reacts to the mass media, there a 5 main reasons why the audience chooses what they want to watch. These reasons are:

This theory will impact our music video in different ways, the main reason a person would choose to watch our music video would be to be entertained. It can also be linked to escapism because if lyrics are very emotional you can escape into the world of the what the artist is maybe feeling and this could apply with our music video becuase the lyrcis have a strong meaning.
